Earth and Planetary Science Remote Sensing Projects in Zayed University
This session will discuss in detail about the Earth, Moon, and Mars projects like- 1) Impact of Prosopis Juliflora on depletion of groundwater in UAE using remote sensing and GIS, 2) Introduction to UAE’s first hyperspectral library website, 3) Terrestrial analog studies to show the intensity to unclog the forthcoming activities for the future perspective aspects on the lunar and other planetary surfaces., 4) Examining the potential of liquid water on the surface of mars, and many other interesting projects.

Mr. Manish serves as a Remote Sensing and Environment Specialist at the College of Natural and Health Sciences (CNHS) at Zayed University. His research interest includes exploring mineralogy, geology, geomorphology, and atmospheric parameters of Mars, Moon, Earth, and other extra-terrestrial planets using Remote Sensing satellite images and Geographic Information System (GIS) tools. Previously, He was a Research Assistant at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), working for China’s lunar exploration mission, where he assisted on Chang’E 5 and Chang’E 4 lunar missions by delivering useful scientific outputs like regolith thickness mapping, mineralogical mapping, geomorphological mapping, geological mapping, etc. of Landing and Backup Landing sites.
